Homebound, so bored I'm cleaning....

I decided this week that I would get the girls and I out of the house more. I visited my sister-in-law on Tuesday and we planned that we would take the kids to the Treehouse ( a children's museum here in Ogden) on Wednesday, yeah!!! Or maybe not. Annika woke up with a fever and a nasty cough in the middle of the night. Instead of the Treehouse we went to the doctor Wednesday morning. Funny thing was Paul and I were talking a few days earlier that Annika doesn't get sick very often, I should of known better. Anyway, she has the CROUP and was a trooper at the doctor. When we went to get out of the car she asked where Sydney was, lately we have been there for Syd's appointments. When I told her she was home, she realized we where there for her she told me " mom I'm all better, sucker, sucker, sucker" that is what they give the kids when the appointment is done. They have her on steroids and as Paul said "no playing baseball for a while" she has fared pretty well, except for today has she has not felt well she has been sleeping on the couch all morning. As mom's we wish for our kids to calm down and relax for a while, having the croup isn't what I had in mind in fact she is pretty miserable :( I have resorted to early SPRING CLEANING while I am home bound. I have cleaned 4 out of my 5 hall closets, yesterday Annika kept on getting in the board games that I pulled out while I was washing the shelves. I now have Malarky cards all over my living room, aaaahhh. Sydney entertained herself with outdated packages of Top Ramen ( I didn't know it could expire) you can see why I needed to clean out my pantry. That is the latest with us, hope all is well with you.

I had my hair cut on Wednesday, I was in desperate need of help. It has been years since I have had bangs, I felt like it was time for something different. I told Lex I would put the pics on the blog to see what she thinks, well?

My favorite things

After I put my kids down for a nap today, I was thinking of the moments that I really enjoy throughout the day.

- I love seeing my girls first thing in the morning they are always excited to see me.
- I enjoy it when Annika makes Sydney giggle.
- When the house is silent and I have a moment to regain my sanity.
- I love to curl up on the couch at night with Paul and watch a Jazz game, even though I usually fall asleep before it is over.

- When Sydney falls asleep on my chest when we are laying down.
- When Paul comes home from work or school we all are excited to see him.
- To steal a few moments to read a book.
- Going to the gym and burn off a little stress and hopefully a little fat.
- Chatting with Alexis or family on the phone.
- Most of all hanging out together.

Fairy princess at the party.....

We had a Valentine party today with our friends in the neighborhood. I was thrilled when Annika wanted to go in her princess dress, usually I have a difficult time getting her to wear a skirt and keep a ponytail in her hair. She was truly adorable, I'm sure the grandma's will get a kick out of these pics. I don't know about the rest of you I kind of dread sugar holidays like this, they always seem to sneak a lot more sugar then they should. I had Annika's Valentine bag in my backpack some how ahe was able to drag it out, by the time I found her she had managed to eat two suckers amd a couple packs of fruit snacks and was ripping open a two pak of starbursts. On top of the cookies we frosted and hot lips she pounded at the party. I like Alexis's philosophy, at halloween she lets her boys go at it in the the hopes that maybe they will get so sick they won't want to do it again. Oh well, she had a great time I guess that is all that matters.

Little Miss Syd

I am obsessed with having picture taken of my little girls. Luckily, I have a sister-in-law who is a fabulous photographer and she always wants to practice with her camera and different kinds of light. Super Tuesday

It has been a few years since I have been interested in politics. It has been wonderful this year to have such diversity in the canidates, I think it is exciting. Paul and I stay up last night watching each states outcome. There were a few surprises, Huckabee being one of them. I went to the elementary that is two blocks from our house to vote. I stood in line for 20 min. before I found out I was at the wrong place to vote! I had to drive a few miles to the right elementary where there was nobody in line, surprising at 7 p.m. at night! I was glad to get to vote and look forward to the future, hopefully we can start going in the right direction.

Trip to Flagstaff

We visited Paul's parents in Flagstaff, Ar. after Christmas, Momma Jane took Annika for a ride on Ozark. She wanted to get on the "big horse", she is going to be our little dare devil. My favorite present this year was a scrapebook Lynn made me of my girls, I love it!! We always have a wonderful time with his family, we don't get to see them near enough.

Enough Already!!!

This weekend we were hit again by another monsterous snow storm. We are running out of room to shovel the snow. Here are a few pic from this morning of Annika helping me clear the snow from the walks. We have a good three and a half feet of snow in our front yard. The plows rarley come by which make it difficult to go any where, when they do come they plow a good foot or two of ice/snow mixture at the end of the drive way. Paul's back is about ready to give out with all the shoveling he has done. It is beautiful to look at just difficult to manover through all of it.
